It’s really exciting when you get the opportunity to start a new business (or relaunch an old one).  You have the ability to set the ground rules you want to live by and build a dream that is born out of your desire to do something different and that is filled with meaning.  Your future is a blank canvas ready to be painted.

As thrilling as it is in starting a new venture, there is also great fear!

What if you don’t succeed?  How will you get clients or customers to pay for what you offer?  Why are you willing to invest in something with no guaranteed returns?  It can be really scary analyzing all the potential downfalls or dangers associated with pursuing your idea and business.  The entrepreneur road isn’t easy and the road is filled with potholes, falling rocks, detours, and crazy drivers heading your way.

I believe that the biggest danger isn’t moving forward, but sitting idle while life and your dream passes you by.

Regret is a monstrous six letter word and living with regret is more harmful than trying and failing. You cannot be paralyzed by “what-if” and neither can I.  There are so many reasons to play things safe but that is not a life worth living.  It is better to swing for the fences and hit a home run than never go to bat at all.  This I can guarantee you!  I’ve launched businesses before and it is always filled with excitement and fear.  This is how living the life of an entrepreneur is and always will be.

So again, I am experiencing all the great and insane emotions surrounding a starting a new/old business, but I have determined that I will live with no regrets ever again.  How about you … are you ready to take the same journey?  If not, why?
