It has been debated whether P.T. Barnum actually once said that “There’s a sucker born every minute”. Regardless of the actual contributor to this famous quote, there is a hint of truth in it.
People want to believe in the magic bean story – or that as entrepreneurs we can have overnight success. We will believe the hype that following an Internet Marketing program will give us the very dream we want to live and that unlimited wealth is just around the corner. These wonderfully crafted stories give us hope and visions of dancing around with Sugar Plumb Fairies while catching hundred dollar bills pouring from the sky like rain. WAKE UP!
It hurts to have your bubble busted but the sooner we give up the magic Kool-Aid, the faster we can face the reality and the truth …and get focused on the right and real kind of dream.
Whether you are into Internet Marketing, Multi-Level Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, or any of the online (or traditional) offerings the truth is you will have to have passion for it, believe in it, and work hard at it. This applies to ANY business. Period! Success comes from investing in your dream and being ready when that opportunity for “overnight success” comes. You have to pour in sweat equity and time; you have to be willing to do the dirty work to get to the diamond. And when you do this, ironically, you will appreciate your accomplishments more.
To be honest, you CAN be very successful on the Internet and make money while you sleep, but it comes with more than the “program price” and the emotional hype of achieving your lifestyle design tomorrow. If you are serious about building a long-term, viable business and living your dream, then there are no short cuts or magic pills to take you to Wonderland. Work is a four letter word after all.
