One of the most annoying things that I encounter with businesses is the idea of I’ll get to that new contact later.  Friends, we are in a very crappy economic time and if someone is willing to talk to you about spending their hard earned money, maybe it would be wise to talk with them NOW!

We all get busy working in our own businesses and we just might have enough work for today or until next month, but I know from experience is that the well can dry up as fast is it was filled.  Even if you are booked up you should need to continue to talk with prospective clients and answer their questions.  If you can’t help them for whatever reason, then consider referring them to someone who can.

Remember that the person who contacts you may only be price shopping or feeling things out — OR they may really become a customer who spends thousands of dollars with your company and becomes a brand evangelist that refers others who will invest their money into your company.   You won’t know if you don’t follow up and you won’t be first in line if you wait to react.
