I want to share a “kernel”of truth; without customers, your business or church is dead! You simply can’t survive very long without them unless you are independently wealthy.
This truth should help us realize that our goal in business needs be building a solid base of clients who are generally happy with our services or products. While we will all probably screw this goal up at times, I believe that there is one great tip that will see us through these trials and which will develop better businesses:
Make your customer feel appreciated.
If you make them feel like they are a pain in the ass or that their needs are secondary, they will sense that and go to your competitors. In today’s economy it would behoove business owners to understand this and focus on creating evangelists.
Make your customer feel important and wanted. Treat them well and follow up on your promises. Support the products you have created for them. Empower your team to do what it takes to make things right with them (and even when they are wrong).
Taking care of your clients and making them feel appreciated will go a long way. It is a priceless investment into your brand forever.
