Starbucks has been implementing a conversation starter on the back of their cups by providing opinions, thoughts, and observations by every day people. They encourage you to read “The Way I See It,” and then invite you to tell them how you see it.
I think that churches and organizations can learn from this outstanding idea. An integral part of branding is knowing what your audience thinks and feels about you. Do you know the way people “see” you? If not, start asking. Branding is about their perception not yours. You can gain an advantage by asking the hard questions and getting feedback – then hopefully you and your audience will be seeing the same thing.
