I went to Starbucks this morning to meet with my friend David Hillis. Before he arrived, I had the opportunity to visit with the barista’s (all women today) and ask them if they really enjoyed working there. After all they were joking, extremely friendly, and talking about how girl’s rule…could it really be that fun? Not only did all of them enthusiastically say that working at Starbucks was awesome or the best job they ever had – I was included in their conversation like an old friend. Great stuff!
How can this apply to your church or organization? Make everyone that you come into contact with feel important or like an old friend. Sometimes we forget that in the flurry of activities and tasks we must attend to or accomplish. God gives us divine moments. Will we seize them or let them pass by? Every opportunity we have to interact with others is important. Make the best of it.
Kudos to the ladies at Starbucks!
